Aaron Porter, MD

Dr. Porter is the Medical Director of Cool Springs Surgical Associates.  He received his Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati and his Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University.  He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Vanderbilt University where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Porter specializes in cataract surgery, refractive surgery and external disease.  He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Porter brings 15 years of experience and is highly skilled in laser assisted cataract techniques and specialty IOLs.  He has performed over 27,000 cataract surgeries and more than 12,000 LASIK procedures.

Dr. Porter participates in RAM, a non-profit provider of mobile medical clinics, offering free dental, vision, and medical services to underserved and uninsured individuals, and is a member of the Canby Robinson Society at Vanderbilt University.  The Canby Robinson Society honors those who provide annual support at the leadership level for the health care, discovery research and professional training programs at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

He is described by patients as “kind, caring and thorough.” Dr. Porter enjoys traveling, hiking, spending time with his children and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
