A stable prescription is a core requirement; your vision should remain unchanged for at least 12 to 24 months before the procedure. If you proceed while your prescription is still fluctuating, your results may be less predictable.
What About the Upper Age Limit?
There is no strict upper age limit for LASIK. However, by the mid-40s, most people develop presbyopia—a natural age-related change in the lens that makes near vision difficult. It is important to know that LASIK does not prevent presbyopia; if you already use reading glasses, you will likely still need them for near tasks after surgery.
